Raue LLP expects its partners and associates to use their skills for the common good and to help individuals in particular need of assistance. We regard a willingness to “give something back” to society to be part and parcel of the job, and actively encourage our staff to dedicate some of their time to the provision of free legal services. This means that pro-bono work is carried out to exactly the same high standards as we would provide for paying clients. Our pro-bono services are offered to those in need of help who would otherwise not be able to afford adequate legal advice, and to causes where we are convinced that our work will contribute to the common good.
The firm is a member of Pro Bono Deutschland e.V., the first association of leading law firms in Germany advancing the idea of free legal advice for charitable organizations. Furthermore, Christian von Hammerstein is a member of Conseil d'Europe of the International Senior Lawyers Project (ISLP). The international organization ISLP provides the pro bono services of skilled and experienced lawyers to promote human rights, equitable and sustainable economic development and the rule of law worldwide.
Recent pro-bono projects that our partners and associates have been involved in include:
-
Advising the project "himmelbeet". The "himmelbeet" is a multicultural community garden on the top parking deck of the Schiller Park Center in Berlin-Wedding. It is scheduled to open in May 2013 and will be a meeting place and learning center for all ages and from all backgrounds. It will not only improve the possibility of self-sufficiency in the city but the social structure in the neighborhood as well.
