Raue LLP expects its partners and associates to use their skills for the common good and to help individuals in particular need of assistance. We regard a willingness to “give something back” to society to be part and parcel of the job, and actively encourage our staff to dedicate some of their time to the provision of free legal services. This means that pro-bono work is carried out to exactly the same high standards as we would provide for paying clients. Our pro-bono services are offered to those in need of help who would otherwise not be able to afford adequate legal advice, and to causes where we are convinced that our work will contribute to the common good.

Recent pro-bono projects that our partners and associates have been involved in include:
  • Terra Concordia: Advising Terra Concordia, an organization dedicated to the protection of the environment and to increasing public education in botany, on its foundation as a non-profit organization.
  • Vincentino e.V.: Ongoing legal advice to Vincentino e.V., an organization advocating art projects at schools in order to provide less privileged children with the opportunity to experience art and culture.
  • Supporting a project in Berlin that seeks to establish a center for interreligious dialog at Tempelhofer Feld regarding all legal matters of association.
  • German Literature Archives Marbach: Advising the German Literature Archives Marbach on the purchase of Kafka letters as well as on the contractual arrangements with the Bodleian Library regarding access to and exhibition of the letters.
  • Festspielhaus Afrika Project: Advising Festspielhaus Afrika project in Burkina Faso which has been initiated by the late artist Christoph Schlingensief, on all legal matters.
  • Advising Teach First Deutschland gGmbH, an organization which recruits highly qualified graduates to teach for a year in social problem areas after leaving university.
  • Advising BCG – Bund Contergangeschädigter und Grünenthalopfer e.V, a charity representing German thalidomide victims.
  • Advising various charitable organizations whose activities range from development in Africa to promoting choral singing and protecting Germany’s architectural heritage.
