The lawyers of RAUE LLP have provided advice on large scale construction and infrastructure projects for decades. Such projects create specific demands and the need of integrated advice regarding various areas of law. The starting point for legal advice on such projects is usually either construction and architecture law or real estate law.

Construction Law
Through seamless advice, we help investors to protect projects from risks and to achieve successful completion. We advise through all phases of the project cycle: Early stage contract drafting, continuous advice during the construction period, and representation in legal disputes. We are experienced litigators and hence also know how to best address risks on the contract level.
We advise companies involved in the construction process, such as general contractor or sub-contractors, on contract negotiations as well as during complex, multi-party litigation. Our areas of focus include the following:
  • General contractor agreements
  • Sureties (debt guarantees etc.)
  • Review of general terms and conditions
  • Differentiation between VOB/B contracts and contracts under BGB
  • Insurance issues
  • Litigation for compensation, additional compensation and delay-related claims
  • Preliminary action (guarantees on first request, claims according to § 648 a BGB, builder’s leans)

Architects’ Law
RAUE LLP is known for its representation of large architecture firms. We advise architects on all aspects of their work. We value personal, commercially viable, strategic advice which goes beyond just dealing with a specific problem. We are able to provide practical, sensible, and efficient advice and representation because we understand the planning processes as well as the commercial environment in which architects work. Our practice includes the following areas of specialization:
  • Architecture competitions
  • Procurement lawissues relating to architecture
  • Architects and engineering contracts, general planning agreements
  • Copyright law
  • Fee-related litigation
  • Liability and insurance issues
  • (Tender) consortiums
  • Corporate law issues relating to architecture firms
